Georgia on my mind...

I'm going to use that line as much as possible while I'm here...

It's official. I have left California and am in Fayetteville, GA - the first leg of the physical travel part of the road to Italy. It's all very surreal still...

Ty, Carolyn, and little Ellia Stewart picked me up at the Atlanta airport this evening. We came back to their house, I made some dinner, and then had the pleasure of chatting with them for a couple of hours. Carolyn shared a lot about their journey in ministry and missions and they both had some very encouraging words for my journey as well. I already feel at home! Tomorrow we are heading to the OM headquarters for weekly prayer and meeting with other members of the OM Arts team. Afterwards, I will be spending some time with Sara Gratzer and Linda Wells at Compass Dance Academy. Things are falling into place and the Lord has it all in His Hands. So good.

I got a good lesson in planning yesterday. The verse I read from my morning devotional book yesterday was Proverbs 16:3...
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed."
So I did it. I wrote down my whole plan for what I was going to do that day. Here it is...

  1. Quiet time
  2. coffee, read comics, breakfast, call Gram
  3. get ready to go
  4. 10am - leave
  5. go to Sephora to get makeup
  6. go to Dancebag to get tights and leo
  7. go to bank to cash check from Aunt Pat & Uncle Wally
  8. get gas
  9. go to 3 Little Birds for eyebrows
  10. go to dance from 12:45-3:45pm
  11. come home and get ready for dinner
  12. 6pm- dinner @ Dewz with parents
  13. come home and watch TV with parents
  14. go to bed
"Ok God. Here they are. This is what I had planned for today. I give all of these to you now. I willingly hand them over to you and welcome your Holy Spirit to do with them as you lead. This is YOUR day. You made it. You created another day to live for you. So, I give everything I decided to fill the day with back to you to use for your glory. It is yours God. So, to start...what should I have for breakfast? Thank you for blessing me with another day to live for you. I want to please you today. In your Name I declare victory over the enemy today. He is not welcome here or anywhere in my life. You have the authority Lord. It's ALL YOU! Woo!"

So, I went downstairs. I made coffee. I read the comics and ate breakfast (I heated up some leftover veggies by the way). I called my Gram. We ended up talking for 45 minutes, which I hadn't planned on doing. This put me at starting to get ready to leave at 9:45am. I was upstairs and at around 10:05am, the power went out. This meant, not only was I behind my schedule, I was now housebound because the garage door wouldn't open. This gave even more support to my theory that God has an amazing sense of humor...

The power didn't come back on until 10:45am. I'm convinced God was proving His point - You give me your plans and tell me to do with them as I please? Ok, I want more of you then...

And that's exactly what happened. That extra 30 minutes of quiet time was so refreshing and peaceful. And you know what? I still checked everything off of "my list" that day...
